Apple Cider Margaritas

Apple Cider Margaritas
Make a batch of these margaritas for an apple-y twist on the classic. Enjoy on Cinco de Mayo or, really, any day of the year!

Best For: Sipping
Total Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 8

Ingredients

    • 1 apple, cored, half diced and half thinly sliced (we recommend EverCrisp®, Fuji, Honeycrisp, or SweeTango®)
    • 12 oz. (1½ cups) blanco tequila
    • 4 oz. (½ cup) orange liqueur
    • 16 oz. (2 cups) apple cider
    • 6 oz. (¾ cup) fresh squeezed lime juice
    • Sliced lime
    • Optional: ¼ cup light maple syrup
    • Garnish (Optional): kosher salt + lime zest or sugar + apple pie spice (for the rim); cinnamon stick, fresh herbs, sliced apple and lime

Directions

    1. Prepare a shallow dish with either kosher salt and lime zest or sugar and apple pie spice. Run a slice of lime over the rim of 8 cocktail glasses and roll outer edges in the salt or sugar mixture. Try not to get anything on the inside of the glass.
    2. In a pitcher, add about half the apple, sliced, and muddle to release the natural juices.
    3. Add tequila, orange liqueur, apple cider, fresh lime juice, and maple syrup. Stir to mix ingredients and dissolve syrup, then add a few handfuls of ice.
    4. Fill glasses about halfway with ice. Stir mixture again before straining over each glass. Garnish with a thinly sliced apple and lime wedge.
